BLINDHÆD – Schaufenster junge Kunst

08.03.25-25.05.25

The Galerie Stadt Sindelfingen is delighted to present BLINDHÆD, Justin Urbach’s (*1995 in Munich) first institutional solo exhibition at the Schaufenster junge Kunst. BLINDHÆD allows us to see further than our eyes can, as Justin Urbach’s works explore the multifaceted dimensions of vision, which is no longer exclusively human. It is increasingly shaped by technology and the optimization of the body. The exhibition title is inspired by a road sign that warns of restricted vision and is both a symbol for the ambivalence of seeing and a metaphor for the limits of human perception.

With neuromorphic camera technologies, wall sculptures, laser-engraved screens and immersive projections, Urbach’s works operate at the interface of art and science. They question how our understanding of the visually legible changes when it is expanded and at the same time fragmented by the influence of algorithms, cameras and sensors. The exhibition invites us to reflect on the possibilities and challenges of a speculative future of seeing, a future in which transhuman perspectives expand our spectrum of perception and renegotiate the boundaries of corporeality.
