REALISMEN IN DER SÜDDEUTSCHEN KUNST

A presentation of works of painting, drawing and print, taken from the inventories of the municipal Lütze Collection, takes view of developments within realist art over the past century and a half. Rarely in the history of art has such a short timespan produced such an abundance of variety within so-called representational art. It is in this context that Joachim Kupke’s artistic position, with his particular manner of pictorial appropriation and creation, also finds its identity.
