SABINE LAIDIG

Sabine Laidig’s artworks deal on a fundamental level with the phenomenon of color. As such, the mathematical tools of scale and metrics form an essential component of her works, providing the artist with the means to explore the interplay between color-application, pictorial rhythm and lighting effects, creating the most finely nuanced spaces of light. These demand exacting attention from the viewer and must be experienced in their original form in order for them to reveal their full effects. In this exhibition, the artist, who has in recent years also excelled in producing works for public spaces, presents drawings, small-format works on MDF panels and large-format canvases, all of which engage in their own individual ways with color, light, sound and rhythm as perceptual phenomena.
